Arriving in Colombo, the group was greeted with a warm “Ayubowan”—a traditional Sri Lankan welcome wishing long life. After checking in at Cinnamon Lakeside, it was time to relax and unwind before the adventure truly began. Day three brought a scenic journey inland to Nuwara Eliya. The drive itself was a highlight, with rolling hills, lush greenery and cooler temperatures giving it a completely different feel - earning its nickname, “Little England.” The group visited a tea plantation, where they learnt about the production of world-renowned Ceylon tea and enjoyed a fresh cup right at the source. High tea at Jetwing St Andrew’s was the perfect way to end the day.
